The Howlidays Are Here, 4 Quick Ideas For Dog Gifting

We’ve made it quick and convenient for you to grab or make a gift for the dog in your life. In this blog post we’ll share three quick ideas to take the stress out of the Howlidays. Hint hint, personalized ornaments are at the top of our list!

Idea #1 - Your Inner Baking Goddess - woof!

Handmade presents are a great way to show the people and animals in your life that you care deeply. After all, you've committed to spending time creating the perfect gift to show off your handy work. Our suggestion is to find a quick and easy dog treat recipe online. Typically baking dog treats takes about 1-2 hours, if you have all of the ingredients on hand. Baking is a great way to get the kids involved in a project. Use your best judgement to determine how many treats to give away. If they are tiny, make sure there is enough of them to fill up a bag easily. I like to place the treats in some cellophane and tie the top with ribbon, before placing in a white paper bag. I then fold over the top twice before punching two holes to weave in more ribbon to make a bow. Now is the time to pull out your stamp stash and stamp your heart away on the bag or leave it white. You can add a gift tag to the ribbon with a little personalized note. If you want to take your gift giving to the next level, loop in one of our cedar dog ornaments as a present topper. If you find that baking isn't your cup of tea you can also purchase dog treats. It's not cheating if you buy from a small business. Check out Leashless Lab for some tasty dog treats. Leashless Lab treats are recycled from spent beer grains, use all natural ingredients, are made with love and donate 10% of their profits.

Idea #2 - The perfect gift for the trendy - so fetch

We all like to look our best and this applies to our dogs as well! When Ella gets groomed I swear she knows she looks amazing. She has more energy and excitement to give. This is a great gift to give an owner. Check out gift cards or special packages you can pre buy at local dog grooming businesses. Ella is groomed on Thursdays at Central Bark Westside. We love taking her there because it's a local spot, they do a fantastic job, ease of pick up, flexible hours and we love the owner! Pair your gift with a high quality and adorable bandana from Lost & Hound. Ella owns two Lost & Hound bandanas and they definitely do not disappoint.

Idea #3 - Snap Snap Picture Time! - puparazzi

Speaking of bandanas, with every purchase of a Lost & Hound bandana a toy is purchased for a shelter dog. We love using our bandanas for photoshoots with Dogs of MKE. Dogs of MKE specializes in pet photography, specifically dogs and she does an amazing job! Check out her pre planned locations and packages. You're going to have a hard time just picking one photo to place in a frame for a gift, so grab a couple.

Idea #4 - Buy a Local Dog Box - saved by the vet

With only a couple weeks (days...) left until Christmas, you need something quick! Not to worry, we've got you covered here, or rather a local vet clinic does. Check out these amazing pet gift boxes that Milwaukee Vet Clinic has available for a limited time on their online store. You get Milwaukee's finest local pet products all in one. If you aren't from Milwaukee, no worries, there is a shipping option. Products are hand picked from MKE Vet to you, all in one box. Great to give to your pup, grandpups, other pup parents, or even hostess gift. Box contents will vary slightly from dog to dog, but will include a breed specific Doggie Doo Clip, a delicious bag of Leashless Lab Dog Treats, a fetching rope frisbee from Lost and Hound, Milwaukee Vet Clinic Dog Wipes to keep your pup clean, and a plush holiday toy (based on size of your pup).

There is even a pickup party at the Iron Horse to pick up your gift box Dec 19th, 2019 from 5-7 pm. Pick up your gift boxes and have a holiday cocktail or do some last minute gift shopping. All gift boxes can be pick up at Milwaukee Vet Clinic but wouldn't it be more fun at the Iron Horse? Hey did you know in the summer the Iron Horse has a Yappy Hour on their patio that you can bring your do too?
